Bold Play of the Week!

This week we're picking Danny Woodhead of the New England Patriots.  Danny who?  Yup, Danny Woodhead.  Anyone following the Jets in preseason know that Woodhead tore it up!  When the Jets cut this guy, the Pats were quick to snag him.  Randy Moss is gone now and it's Woodhead's time to shine in a flex role.  We're starting him in the WR3 position this week (he has WR and RB eligibility!)  The Ravens defense is scary but expect the Patriots to make use of all weapons.  If you don't start him, at least get this guy on your roster!

Let's hear your thoughts

If you didn't know, Woodhead holds the NCAA record for rushing yards in a season.  In D2, he posted 19 games of 200+ yards - This guy is the real deal.

  1. Hey Mike!

Im just kinda skeptical of the Danny Woodhead pick. He's an outstanding D2 player yet he has proven nothing more than being a role player at the NFL level. Sure he broke the NCAA rushing record (at the D2 level) but what has he proven at the NFL? He has done good against mediocre, second string and third string NFL defenses during the preseason but his ability to be a productive NFL fantasy player is doubtful. You'll be lucky to get 10 points for him for this week. Just sayin, not many resourceful midget players in the NFL. Danny Amendola would be a more respectful pick for the upcoming week. But anyway, great blog! I look foward to future updates!

  2. Hi xtinelicious,

Thank you for your input! The past 2 weeks Woodhead has posted 10+ points, including 47 yards and a touchdown against a solid Miami defense. Is Woodhead a sure pick? Not by any means. 10 points this week would be very solid from a WR3 position. Much of Woodhead's value comes from him being a part running back with wide receiver elgibility. Amendola is a great pick, but in this section we try to dig deeper for a guy that is not added in many leagues (15% in Yahoo! Leagues) This is an easy pickup with a lot of upside - I look forward to watching this play out!
